Chair Letter

Dear Delegates,
Welcome to BruinMUN 33! My name is Isabella Torriani (she/her) and I’m very excited to be your Chair for Is Everything O.K Over There?: The O.K. Corral Conflict.
To introduce myself, I’m a third-year Neuroscience and Political Science double major from San Diego, California. From having my Walter White moments in the chemistry labs to conducting constitutional research on the Philippines and hybrid regimes, my time here at UCLA has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Outside of academics, I enjoy recipe testing in my downtime, watch Parts Unknown reruns, and am a massive fan of all things David Bowie. I have always loved crisis, CDing at BruinMUN 31, chairing at BruinMUN 32, and CDing at LAMUN XIX and XX, and I am so excited to be your chair! I have the immense honor of being awarded twice by Best Delegate for my CD work, and can’t wait to take a break from the backroom to chair for you in the frontroom!
But enough about me! The O.K. Corral Conflict features an incredibly unique committee backdrop, combining organized crime elements with fascinating interpersonal dynamics, high-stakes political tensions, and a plethora of novel mechanics for delegates to enjoy. In this committee, the rival gangs of Tombstone, AZ will overcome rivalries (or more likely, start them) in a chance to become legend in the Wild West. I want to encourage each and every one of you to bring your passion, creativity, and wit to this committee. Embrace the allocations you'll be representing, challenge the status quo, and let your diplomatic brilliance shine. If you ever have questions, need guidance, or simply want to share your favorite Bowie song, don't hesitate to reach out.
I look forward to seeing how you work together to reconcile your rivalries, strike silver, brave the heat, and of course, how you immerse yourselves in the dangerous lawless world of the American Wild West. Remember, everybody is guilty– the only crime is getting caught.
Best of luck,
Isabella Torriani | Chair

CD Letter
Dear Delegates,

Welcome to BruinMUN 33! My name is Jaidyn McKinnie (she/her) and I’m very excited to be your Crisis Director for Is Everything O.K Over There?: The O.K. Corral Conflict.
To tell you a bit about myself, I’m a second year Political Science major with minors in History and Global Studies, and I’m from Corona, California. During my time at UCLA, I’ve taken a keen interest in comparative politics, namely authoritarian regimes, democratic backsliding, and both domestic and international responses to globalization. My academic interests have expanded beyond what I ever could have imagined, and I’m so grateful to be at this university where I can continue to augment them. Outside the classroom, I love hiking near the beach, rewatching Modern Family, New Girl, and Schitt’s Creek, and going to any live music performances. Last winter, I joined MUN, and instantly took a liking to it, from the committee topics to the incredible community of people. As a staffer at LAMUN 2025, I knew that I wanted to get more involved, and I am now super excited to CD for the first time for you all!
Let’s shift to what you’re really here for: The O.K. Corral Conflict, the ultimate embodiment of Wild West agitation. Tensions are rising in Tombstone, Arizona, and the line between order and chaos is eroding. This committee invites you to step into a world where power is earned through sharp minds and sharper moves. Behind every alliance is an agenda, and every quiet moment could be the calm before the storm. You’ll navigate shifting loyalties, personal ambition, and the volatile politics of the Wild West, all while crafting a narrative that’s entirely your own. This is no place for hesitation. Bring your bold voice, your strategy, and your full presence to the table. And if you ever have questions or want to chat, please feel free to reach out!
The Wild West is waiting for you. From backroom, I’m so excited to see your strategies and goals in motion, as you navigate rivalries, alliances, and your allotted resources. Silver changes people, and it changes the city of Tombstone forever.
Good luck,
Jaidyn McKinnie | Crisis Director
