United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees

With the ever increasing refugee crisis around the world, more and more people are being affected by issues such as war, drugs, and so on, leaving them displaced with limited freedom. Unfortunately, this affects everyone including children. According to Save the Children, a child refugee foundation, “2 in 3 children have suffered a war-related loss – lost a loved one, had their house bombed or endured injuries. Half of children are no longer in school – missing out on critical learning, stability and friendship.” Additionally, climate change is a large factor in the refugee crisis today. According to VICE, “... there are fewer than 1 million people living in regions where the average temperature during the hottest month of the year is higher than the range within which the human body can function.” As a result, migration of groups from their homes is unavoidable even with efforts enforced from the Paris Agreement. As a committee, it is our job to come up with solutions for this multifaceted issue, as it is a human right to have a home on this planet, alongside UN Bodies such as UNEP and UNICEF.
