Letter from the Chair
I’m glad you have chosen to compete in BruinMUN and the UNDP committee. If this is your first time at this conference, prepare to have spirited debates with creative and intelligent students from around the globe. If however, this is not your first time coming to BruinMUN, prepare to have spirited debates with creative and intelligent students from around the globe.
My name is David Clymer, and I am a 3rd year music composition major and music history minor. I went to high school here in LA, and founded their MUN club. BruinMUN was the first conference I ever attended, and the experience of training and participating gave me the tools necessary to compete nationally once in college. BruinMUN also gave me the tools to form a coherent argument about topics I previously knew little about, and debate those topics in an effective manner. I have no doubt that if you work and debate to the best of your ability, by the end of this conference, these skills will be imparted onto you.
The topics that will be discussed in this committee are real crises which currently plague the world we live in. The state of the Middle East heavily affects the economics and politics of the rest of the world. At the same time, the world population crisis creates real problems which we will all need to face head on in order to alleviate. Due to the urgent nature of this agenda, I expect to see spirited debates from all the creative and intelligent students representing the countries and ideas from all over the globe.
Have fun preparing,
