Position Paper will not be accepted or scored at LAMUN 2010. Because all committees are crisis focused, position papers are not essential as they are in normal UN committees. Writing a position paper may serve as a good outline for guiding research. But again, they are not going to be accepted or scored.

Awards

LAMUNC is a diplomacy-oriented conference that abides by the philosophy of 'conference first, competition second.' Delegates will be holistically evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Facilitating and engaging the committee in a diplomatic and collaborative process
  • Substantive knowledge and analysis of international issues and policies
  • Accuracy of country policy and the feasibility and creativity of solutions
  • Professionalism, leadership, and general quality of delegate skills

Individual delegates may be recognized for the following honors: Best Delegate, Outstanding Delegate, and Honorable Mention. The Secretary-General will recognize one Best Delegation and up to two Outstanding Delegations for quality team performance.
