Dear Delegates and Advisors,

It is with great honor, and even greater pleasure that I welcome you to the seventh annual Los Angeles Model United Nations College conference at UCLA!  My name is Christopher Janney, serving once again as the Secretary General for LAMUN.  I sincerely hope that you will have both an enjoyable and education experience at our third fully crisis conference.

Although now in our seventh year of college conference, the members of MUN at UCLA continue to innovate and redesign our conference in order to offer the most engaging and exciting debate possible to our delegates.  By continually evolving our strategy for running an all-crisis conference we hope that each delegate may experience an even more superior committee flow, and enjoy the fast paced continuous debate and decision making characteristic of the crisis format.

LAMUN 2012 will offer a wide range of committees, spanning the realms of the historical, the current, and even the fantastical.  Whether it is working towards solving present economic crises, waging a war (cyber or conventional), or navigating the intricacies of the North Korean food crisis, a variety of challenges await you at LAMUN 2012!

I would also like to announce that as of this year, LAMUN 2012 shall officially take place at the Sheraton Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. Our new location will afford delegates the opportunity to experience all of the splendor of one of our nation’s most vibrant cities. Just a few highlights include proximity to several beaches, a bustling nightlife, and of course the glamour and beauty of nearby Hollywood, Beverly Hills and the like. To top it all off, the conference is hosted in the spring, a time where I can promise you the city is at its best!
