Nina Ho (President)
Entering her senior year at UCLA, Nina is finishing her studies as a Classical Civilizations and English double major. Having been involved in the program for over seven years, Nina has gained valuable Model UN knowledge, not only performing as a delegate, but also serving on Secretariat at both high school and college levels. Aside from her participation in Model UN, she is dedicated to serving her community. Nina is a member of the Campus Events Commission, interns at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse Guardianship Clinic and works as a TA at the on-campus elementary school. Nina hopes that these activities will eventually lead her to a future career in public service.

Parsa Sobhani (Secretary General, High School Conference)
Parsa is a fourth-year Economics major with minors in Global Studies and Statistics. In addition to MUN at UCLA, Parsa spends his time in the Undergraduate Student Association Council (USAC), as the UCLA student government's Finance Committee Chair. He has also served as Secretary-General for Global Classrooms:LA, a conference sponsored by the United Nations Association of the United States of America, and was last year's Undersecretary-General for MUN at UCLA's high school conference. He is thrilled to provide another amazing experience for delegates visiting the UCLA campus.

David Tehrani (Secretary General, Collegiate Conference)
David is a 3rd year student from San Diego, studying Biochemistry at UCLA.  As a long time veteran of MUN, his role at UCLA MUN has been that of a delegate, conference staff personnel, and more recently Undersecretary-General of Collegiate Affairs.  Aside from helping run UCLA MUN, David enjoys spending time playing soccer, listening to music, attending concerts, eating, and spending time with friends in festive manners.

Jennifer Zhu (Travel Team Coordinator)
Jennifer Zhu is a fourth year political science major, with a double minor in Global Studies and Chinese. Her involvement with Model United Nations began in college, and since then has enjoyed chairing, staffing, and traveling to far-and-away conferences. As this year's Travel Team Coordinator, Jennifer seeks to expand the scope of MUN at UCLA, and full-heartily believes that sketchy Thai food is best enjoyed in the wee hours of the morning hundreds of miles away from sunny Los Angeles. In addition to MUN at UCLA, Jennifer has staffed RHSMUN and many UNA-USA conferences. When not involved in MUN, Jennifer enjoys eating baked goods (key-lime pie with animal cracker crust is the best) and taking advantage of the great outdoors, be it hiking or kayaking.

Pegah Yazdy (Chief of Staff)
Pegah Yazdy is a fourth year, double majoring in Psychobiology and Political Science. In addition to Model United Nations, she is involved in Unicamp, is a proud member of Phi Sigma Rho, volunteers at the hospital, teaches CPR and First Aid through the Student Welfare Commission, and is a news writer for the Daily Bruin. In her free time, Pegah enjoys the company of friends and family, camping trips, stargazing, traveling, and learning about new cultures. She has been to four continents and hopes to visit them all. She is a major photo enthusiast, loves to drink boba, is easily prone to spending hours on Wikipedia, and is proud of being a BRUIN. She is always up for an adventure and is looking forward to meeting all of you and having another amazing year of MUN!

  Iris Park (Under Secretary-General, Facilities)
Iris feels bittersweet about her senior year at UCLA as she will soon be graduating as a Political Science & Asian American Studies double major. Model UN has been a part of her life for eight years now and this will be her third and final year in the MUN @ UCLA E-Board family. In addition to MUN, she is involved with the Undergraduate Student Initiated Education, Bruin Ambassadors Program, Undergraduate Students Association Council, Undergraduate Admissions and Relations with Schools, and LA ReComM. When she's not in school you can catch her traveling, debating, shopping, reading magazines, watching Korean dramas/movies, hanging out with her bf, or being busy. Upon graduation, she has a heart for going to Japan for missions. She loves U-C-L-A and is very proud to be a Bruin.

Corey Lian (Under Secretary-General, Finance)
Looking back 10 years to Corey's most enjoyable year by far--his 3rd year at UCLA, things have changed a lot. Now a CEO at a large corporation and enjoying the metropolis life of excitement, Corey sees how MUN changed him from a shy high-schooler who was afraid to talk to the opposite sex in fear of "coodies" to a confident graduate of Mechanical Engineering and Political Science. Even his activities of interest have changed from Volleyball, enjoying the outdoors, and conquering the spiciest of foods to a dire enjoyment of sky diving and flying from his suit that propels him to amazing altitudes (yes, Ironman copied him) It all started because of that fateful year at the most amazing campus in the universe. Go Bruins and remember... MUN is FUN!

Cathy Kang (Deputy Secretary-General)
Cathy will be a third year at UCLA in the Fall of 2008 with aspirations of going into the educational field.  When she is not facing a book or facebooking, she finds enjoyment in eating her mom's wonderful home-cooked dishes and watching reruns of Friends. She also draws inspiration from Dwight Schrute (from the NBC series, The Office), mostly for his extreme devotion and fearless chivalry.  This will be her second year on the Secretariat for BruinMUN 2008, and using her experience, she seeks to improve and build upon its traditions.  She looks forward to meeting and seeing all the delegates in the fall!

Millie Tran (Under Secretary-General, High School Staff)
Millie is a second-year "I thought I knew my major, but I really don't" major. Aside from all things MUN (MUN at UCLA, RHSMUN, UNA-USA, Global Classrooms), she loves all thing tech--her heart will always be with Silicon Valley, home of Apple and Google. She is a firm believer in taking way too many units and waking up way too early. She appreciates impeccable grammar, literary allusions, and puns. Someday, she will fully grasp the Arabic language and be able to tell the difference between "dhaal" and "thaa". Her role model will always be her father, her favorite secret agent. Finally, when she grows up (Really!), she is looking forward to more school, more MUN, and more FUN.

Jennifer Patton (Under Secretary-General, High School Relations)
Jennifer is a first year undeclared student who plans to major in Global Studies or International Development Studies with a minor in German.  Her current activities include participation in the UCLA Women's Rowing Team, the Model United Nations Program, and USAC General Representative 3 staff.  After graduation she intends to enter graduate or law school in order to prepare for an internationally focused career as a journalist, member of a nonprofit organization, or advocate in a legal field.

Janaki Palaniappan (Under Secretary-General, High School Resources)
Janaki is a second-year student from San Francisco bay area studying Political Science and South Asian studies. She spends most of her time talking about politics and world issues and considers evening news as one of her favorite shows. She has also worked for and currently works for various non-profit organizations. Janaki also has a passion for learning new languages; she currently speaks four and would like to learn many more. She is also involved in various activities in school and keeps a busy schedule. She loves to hang out with her friends and family and is always looking forward to meeting new people. After finishing her undergraduate degree, she hopes to attend law school where she wants to specialize in either constitutional or international law.

Emily Parris (Under Secretary-General, College Staff)
Emily Parris is a fourth-year political science major; she began her MUN career in college and has attended and staffed numerous conferences. Emily is excited to be on executive board and hopes to work with the other college staff in creating a spectacular college conference. While she is not MUN-ing Emily enjoys many activities including: UCLA Chorale, volleyball, diet coke drinking, tanning on the grass, cuddling, reading Cosmopolitan and The Economist, and obsessive- compulsive shopping.

Patricia Wayne (Under Secretary-General, College Relations)
Patricia is a second year Global Studies and Economics double major. Aside from collegiate relations, Patricia devotes much of her time to the UCLA MUN Travel Team, Undergraduate Student Association Council, and various campus organizations. She enjoys cross country running, horseback riding and intramural athletics. Patricia is a huge fan of the British House of Commons on C-span and loves debating various issues of varying importance with everyone she meets. She aspires to attend business school after graduating from UCLA and is looking forward to an amazing 2008-2009 year.

Asad Ramzanali (Under Secretary-General, College Resources)
Asad Ramzanali is a second-year business economics major (and global studies minor) student from Texas. Other than MUN at UCLA, Asad is a member of Global Business Brigades and many intramural teams. He loves sports of all sorts and tries to stay active. One day, he hopes to work in business, international development, the US government intelligence, and developing nations (not all at the same time). But for now, he is looking forward to working with MUN at UCLA.

Gillian Kuhlmann (Under Secretary-General, Delegates)
Gillian Kuhlmann is a fourth-year Political Science major here at UCLA, and after obtaining her Masters and PhD will someday be the US ambassador to the UN. She has been participating in Model United Nations since high school as both a delegate and a staff member in dozens of conferences, and hopes to attend dozens more. Gillian is particularly excited to be the acting USG of Delegates this coming year and will most assuredly rub her love for MUN off on some poor, unsuspecting UCLA club member. Besides her passion for international relations, Gillian has an affinity for foreign languages, foreign music, foreign food, foreign men, and Mexico.

Sandee Vo (Under Secretary-General, Communications)
Sandee is starting her fourth year as an Economics/International Area studies major who loves learning new languages and traveling. Originally from her beautiful hometown of San Diego, she plans on one day living in Spain as well as touring places such as Costa Rica, Egypt, and Greece. Fashion remains one of her many interests and she is in the process of opening an online boutique showcasing her unique line of jewelry and clothing. She also enjoys hip-hop dancing and would love to appear as a back-up dancer for Britney Spears, once she makes her real comeback. In the future, Sandee hopes to earn her MBA and eventually go into a career of corporate finance/management. Right now, she is excited to be a new member of the Executive Board for MUN at UCLA and cannot wait for the amazing year ahead!

Matt Sandler (Under Secretary-General, Internal Relations)
As a fourth-year Saxophone Performance and Music Business double major, Matt is extremely excited and honored to serve as USG of Internal Relations of Model United Nations at UCLA this year. He has a great deal of experience in the MUN world and also currently works for the United Nations Association of the United States of America. In addition to his many UN-related activities, Matt is also a proud member of Sigma Pi Fraternity and plays in a number of bands around Los Angeles.
